About The Position

The Field Application Engineer enables customers to use Nordic Semiconductor technology across a variety of applications and serves as a key technical resource for internal and external teams. The role works with customers and sales partners to understand applications and use cases, design in Nordic solutions, respond to technical inquiries, and build technical customer relationships. The position is based in Chicago, Illinois. It may be subject to a background check.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
At least 4 years of embedded software development experience.
Understanding of embedded hardware, including digital and analog circuits.
Experience with ARM microcontrollers.
At least 2 years of successfully supporting customer product development.
Experience working with wireless protocols and technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and cellular.
Experience working with software to interface IoT devices with cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
Strong written and spoken customer communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.

Responsibilities

Create and present Nordic Semiconductor’s value proposition.
Understand customer applications and use cases.
Work with Regional Sales Managers, distributors, and representatives to design in Nordic solutions at customers.
Respond to technical inquiries and provide solutions in a timely manner.
Serve as a technical expert in the Sales team.
Develop and own key technical relationships with customers.
