About The Position
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking Field and Lab Assistants in its Geology Program. The position is governed by state and federal laws and institutional policy. Assistants support field sampling and laboratory analysis, including preparing for sampling events, collecting samples and field data, and following quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Requirements
- Some college education and field experience.
- Familiarity with hydrology or hydrogeology principles.
- A dependable form of transportation.
- Ability to work with water sampling equipment.
- Ability to analyze samples in a laboratory.
- Spreadsheet computing skills.
- Good time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Aid in collecting samples, parameters, and notes in the field.
- Drive to sampling locations.
- Take stream discharge measurements.
- Mail samples to appropriate laboratories.
- Follow quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Analyze samples in a laboratory.
- Prepare for sampling events.
- Prepare reports.
