About The Position
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Geology Program is hiring Field and Lab Assistants. The position is temporary and governed by state and federal laws, as well as agency and institution policy. Assistants support field sampling and laboratory analysis, including collecting samples and measurements, preparing for sampling events, and following quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Requirements
- Some college education and field experience.
- Familiarity with hydrology or hydrogeology principles.
- A dependable form of transportation.
- Ability to work with water sampling equipment.
- Ability to analyze samples in a laboratory.
- Spreadsheet computing skills.
- Good time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Collect samples, parameters, and notes in the field.
- Drive to sampling locations.
- Take stream discharge measurements.
- Mail samples to appropriate laboratories.
- Follow quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Analyze samples in a laboratory.
- Prepare for sampling events.
- Prepare reports.
