About The Position

VERSYS (Verified Systems) is experiencing significant growth and is seeking highly skilled and experienced Fiber Splicers to join their team. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing onsite activities such as calibrations and verifications. You will build, maintain, test, and repair fiber-optic networks across various infrastructures including aerial, underground, and indoor environments. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of verifiable field experience in outside plant (OSP) or inside plant (ISP) fiber construction.
  • Proficient with industry-standard fusion splicers (Fujikura, Sumitomo, AFL) and test gear (EXFO, Fluke).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in tight spaces or manholes, and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass drug/background screenings.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Experience with Hexagon Smart Completions Software.
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • An unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • A sharp eye for detail.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • A willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in First Aid/CPR, H2S Awareness, Defensive Driving, OSHA 10, Fall Protection, and Aerial Lift / Elevated Work Platform.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering, design, and construction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform single-mode and multi-mode fusion or mechanical splicing, mid-sheath entries, and ribbon splicing in aerial, underground, and data center environments.
  • Utilize OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and visual fault locators to analyze traces, measure attenuation, and document optical loss.
  • Build, prep, label, and secure fiber distribution panels, splice closures (e.g., Corning, CommScope), cabinets, and patch panels.
  • Diagnose network faults, respond to emergency outages, and complete hot cuts to restore live communication lines.
  • Interpret splice matrices, engineering schematics, work prints, and as-built construction drawings.
