About The Position
The Fiber Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots fiber optic networks across multiple job sites. The role is responsible for completing projects safely and efficiently, in accordance with company standards. The technician follows safety protocols and industry best practices while working on-site and during transit, helping deliver high-quality network services.
Responsibilities
- Install fiber splice enclosures.
- Perform on-site fiber optic cable splicing, including loose tube and ribbon fiber.
- Perform fusion splicing.
- Conduct unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing.
- Perform light-level testing and OLTS testing.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber, and generate test reports.
- Coordinate daily crew activities and work schedules.
- Maintain a safe, quality work site and location.
- Maintain fiber equipment and tools.
- Inspect all equipment assigned to the crew daily.
- Maintain daily production rates.
- Ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with company safety and OSHA practices.
