About The Position
The Fiber Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots fiber optic networks across multiple job sites. The role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards, following safety protocols and industry best practices both on-site and during transit to help deliver high-quality network services.
Responsibilities
- Install fiber splice enclosures.
- Slice onsite plant fiber optic cable, including loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber.
- Perform fusion splicing.
- Conduct unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing.
- Perform light level testing using OLTS.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber and generate test reports.
- Coordinate daily crew activities and work schedules.
- Maintain a safe, quality work site and location.
- Maintain fiber equipment and tools.
- Inspect all equipment assigned to the crew daily.
- Maintain daily production rates.
- Ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with company safety and OSHA practices.
