About The Position

Celerity, a telecommunications/construction company, is seeking an entry-level Fiber Optic Splicing Technician trainee. This role offers on-the-job training and the opportunity to learn a lifelong craft in fiber optics. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, and the ability to retain information. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or GED, and hold a current, valid driver's license. This is a full-time permanent position with benefits, and an optional 4-year apprenticeship program certified by the State of Pennsylvania is available, also with on-the-job training and no classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Learn fiber optic splicing techniques through on-the-job training.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Adhere to a rotating on-call schedule, which may include holidays and weekends.
• Perform overtime and overnight work as needed.
• Lift heavy equipment (50+ pounds).
• Climb poles (with training).
• Crawl into small spaces.
• Work at heights.
• Distinguish colors and shades.
