About The Position
Start a Career in Fiber Optics — We Will Train You Buckley Cable Construction is looking for motivated individuals who want to build a career in the telecommunications industry as a Fiber Optic Splicer. No previous fiber splicing experience is required. We are looking for dependable, hardworking candidates with a good attitude and a willingness to learn. Buckley will provide hands-on training to teach you the skills needed to become a professional fiber optic splicer. This is an opportunity to learn a skilled trade with a clear path for advancement and increased earning potential as your abilities grow.
Requirements

- Be comfortable working around construction and utility operations

- Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Be interested in building a long-term career in telecommunications
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical, electrical, construction, automotive, utility, low-voltage, or other hands-on experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced fiber splicers with daily work
- Prepare fiber optic cables and splice enclosures
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials
- Learn proper fusion splicing techniques
- Follow company safety procedures and customer requirements
- Keep work areas and company vehicles clean and organized
- Work outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Travel to jobsites as required
- Work overtime when projects require it
- Progress toward performing fiber splicing and testing independently
Benefits
- Starting rate $25hr
- $60 per day perdiem
- Hotels paid for
- 2-year contract with performance bonuses
