About The Position

Lumos is looking for a full-time Fiber Management Specialist! If you have experience providing support for continued implementation and configuration of the 3-GIS application who’s excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure we’re harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our ability to set up and maintain our service, we want to hear from you! As a Fiber Management Specialist you’ll rely upon substantial knowledge of multiple telecommunications technologies including DWDM, Ethernet and Gig Wave type designs. The ideal candidate must be able to understand the engineering and construction processes and workflows, read Red Lines, and revise DWG drawings along with other GIS based maps.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience with Engineering or GIS Engineering.
Bachelors degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience with Telecommunications, GIS and/or CAD.
Direct knowledge and hands-on use of 3-GIS, Esri products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
Experience with the use of other Fiber Management/CAD applications (Mapcom M4, CadTel, Autodesk).
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Capability to comprehend network diagrams/maps, learn network terminology, and solve problems.
Understanding of key Centralized and Distributed split architectures through knowledge of numerous GIS/Fiber Management applications.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Software required.

Nice To Haves

3-GIS and/or Esri specific training/certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for internal Lumos and external vendors including 3-GIS Web and mobile end users.
Work with the Lumos Manager, GIS to provide and implement best practices for data management including workflows, fiber records and other GIS data.
Utilize Lumos established workflows to support engineering and construction teams in entering new telecom/GIS-based data into 3-GIS Web using the established processes and procedures.
Test ArcGIS Online Web and Mobile versions for external construction vendors.
Conduct end user needs assessments/requirements gathering workshops and document recommended solutions based on feedback from the customer and internal subject matter experts.
Train both internal Lumos and external vendors on the proper use and adoption of 3-GIS.
Performs other duties as assigned, including departmental and cross-functional projects.
