About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound operations within the FFC (Fulfillment Center). The supervisor ensures associates comprehend and execute safe work practices, identifies and resolves safety issues, and determines daily workload based on facility standards. The position involves monitoring inventory flow, expediting priority product, and resolving pick and ship errors. Training associates on equipment, documenting proficiency, and addressing equipment issues are also key functions. The supervisor is responsible for completing incident reports, identifying and implementing process improvements, and monitoring staffing needs. They will conduct shift briefings, communicate business objectives, monitor productivity, and drive continuous improvement through coaching. Approving off-standard hours, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering developmental opportunities for associates are crucial. The role also involves participating in the hiring process, training new hires, resolving associate conflicts, sponsoring change initiatives, and responding to incidents. Collaboration with other operational shifts is essential for consistent processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree - Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field OR 4 years of experience in distribution center/warehouse operations or related area
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills
• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Proven record of complying with safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Ensures all associates comprehend and execute safe work practices by performing regular safety observations and having regular safety discussions.
• Identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor and notifies the appropriate party for resolution.
• Addresses safety issues or trends escalated from associates.
• Determines the daily workload (production volume) for department as established by the facility.
• Monitors the flow of inventory in the facility frequently throughout the day.
• Expedites receiving, picking and shipping of priority product to internal and external customers.
• Research and resolve pick and ship reported errors and initiate efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing the root cause.
• Train associates on equipment, documenting proficiency and directing resolution to equipment issues.
• Completes all incident reports for in-house product damage, near misses and injuries, and equipment incidents completing accident reports for associate injuries.
• Identifies and assists in implementing process improvements or new processes launched from SSC.
• Identifies and takes action on needs for efficient operations, safety issues, and bottlenecks.
• Monitors staffing needs for department/shift and adjusts work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skillsets.
• Conducts shift briefing and prepares shift turnover documentation.
• Communicates effectively with associates regarding business objectives or current issues.
• Monitors individual and team productivity and drive continuous productivity improvement through process enhancements and one on one coaching.
• Approves off standard hours for associates ensuring accurate accounting of performance for work team.
• Sets goals and communicates clear expectations for associates providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Provides associates with meaningful developmental opportunities and prepares them for upward promotion as applicable.
• Works with associates to build a work environment of engagement and inclusion.
• Participates in the process of hiring talented individuals for the team, submitting, requisitions, interviewing, and assisting HR in the hiring process.
• Train new hires and existing employees on processes and procedures as applicable.
• Discusses and resolves conflicts between associates.
• Sponsors and leads associates through change.
• Responds to incidents or injuries and ensures first aid response takes place as needed.
• Collaborates with the other operational shifts to ensure consistent processes and expectations.
