This role ensures all associates comprehend and execute safe work practices by performing regular safety observations and having regular safety discussions. The supervisor identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor, determining the daily workload for the department and monitoring the flow of inventory. This position expedites receiving, picking, and shipping of priority product, and researches and resolves pick and ship reported errors. The supervisor trains associates on equipment, documents proficiency, and directs resolution to equipment issues. They complete all incident reports for in-house product damage, near misses, injuries, and equipment incidents. This role identifies and assists in implementing process improvements, and identifies and takes action on needs for efficient operations, safety issues, and bottlenecks. The supervisor monitors staffing needs, conducts shift briefings, and prepares shift turnover documentation. They communicate effectively with associates regarding business objectives, monitor individual and team productivity, and drive continuous improvement. This role approves off standard hours, sets goals, communicates clear expectations, and provides constructive feedback. The supervisor provides developmental opportunities, prepares associates for upward promotion, and works to build a work environment of engagement and inclusion. They participate in the hiring process, train new hires and existing employees, and resolve conflicts between associates. This role sponsors and leads associates through change, responds to incidents or injuries, and collaborates with other operational shifts to ensure consistency.
