About The Position

Operates the fertilizer blending tower and assists in plant production operations in coordination with the Operations Manager and Sales Manager. Creates fertilizer blends based on work orders, ensures orders are accompanied by necessary documentation, and assists in scheduling tower production for efficient utilization of resources. The role involves supplying product for bagging operations, maintaining and repairing blending tower equipment, minimizing waste, and monitoring raw material inventory levels. It also includes counting and recording inventory, assisting with receiving and loading products, maintaining housekeeping and organization, and utilizing computer applications for business processes.

Requirements

Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 1 year or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of operating, maintenance and repair of equipment, inventory management, production scheduling and operation records.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Continuously exposed or required to: Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.), Noisy conditions, Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
May be required to work at varying heights.
Lift 51-70 lbs.
Required to push heavy objects.
Ability to work extended hours.
Ability to travel independently and overnight.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

Creates fertilizer blends based on work orders provided by office and sales staff for general fertilizer products as well as pesticide combination products.
Ensures all orders are accompanied with a work order, delivery ticket, or invoice.
Assists Plant Manager in scheduling tower production in a systematic fashion to efficiently utilize company products, equipment, and personnel.
Supplies product for the bagging operation.
Has primary responsibility to maintain and repair all blending tower equipment including plant compressors and chemical application equipment.
Assists Plant Manager/Shop Operations Manager with coordinating repairs and rebuilds of all blending and packaging equipment as needed.
Minimizes waste.
Provides advance notice to Plant Manager / Sales Manager when raw material inventory levels require attention.
Counts and records inventory as required by Plant Manager.
Assists Plant Operations Specialist to maintain and repair all equipment in the plant.
Assists Plant Operations Specialist in receiving products into the plant.
Assists Plant Operations Specialist in loading the tower.
Assists Plant Operations Specialist with housekeeping, organization, and product security within the plant.
Utilizes computer applications as necessary to enhance business processes.
Collects and maintains product samples according to guidelines set forth on general fertilizer and pesticide combination products.
Assists in the bagging operation as needed.
Assists in cleaning break room and offices.
May be asked to serve on the location Safety Committee.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
