About The Position

As a Fence Helper at National Construction Rentals, Inc. (NCR), you assist the Fence Foreman with fence installation and maintenance in accordance with company standards. You support fence operations, maintain a safe work environment, contribute to customer satisfaction, represent NCR professionally, follow safety protocols, and support a positive team dynamic. The role involves working outdoors, often in extreme weather, and performing highly physical work at customer job sites.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and make occasional independent decisions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, operational manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use common-sense reasoning to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines.
• For positions requiring operation of a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. or more: at least 21 years of age and possession of a DOT medical card.
• Ability to perform highly physical work, including frequently holding, pulling, or pushing up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles and equipment daily to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Load trucks with the equipment and materials needed for daily assignments and secure them properly.
• Attend job sites with the Foreman and review project details with customers.
• Install fence poles, erect fences, and tension wire to meet NCR specifications.
• Clean job sites, remove debris, and properly store equipment on the truck after work is complete.
• Clean and maintain trucks and restock materials for future fence installations.
• Follow safety protocols, keep the work environment clean and safe, and participate in required safety meetings.
