About The Position

Hedden, Gunn, & Halka Plastic Surgery Center located in Birmingham, AL, where our plastic surgeons and medical staff are dedicated to helping our patients make positive changes in their lives. With a variety of surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, we are here to help patients address numerous issues, such as signs of aging, spider veins, stubborn body fat, and more. We pride ourselves on working with each individual to create a custom treatment plan and educate them throughout their journey with us. We are seeking a full time motivated and skilled Fellow to join our team. The Fellow is responsible for participating in advanced clinical and/or specialty training within the practice while providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of licensed physicians and leadership. This role is designed to expand clinical knowledge, procedural competency, professional development, and specialty expertise in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or advanced medical degree from an accredited institution required
  • Completion of applicable residency or clinical training program required
  • Current and unrestricted state licensure or eligibility for licensure required
  • DEA registration and controlled substance certification, if applicable
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Deliver patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols, organizational policies, and supervising physician guidance
  • Participate in patient consultations, evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care
  • Assist with surgical and/or non-surgical procedures as applicable to the fellowship program
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical notes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in educational conferences, training sessions, case reviews, and research initiatives as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols, organizational policies, and supervising physician guidance
  • Participate in patient consultations, evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care
  • Assist with surgical and/or non-surgical procedures as applicable to the fellowship program
  • Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical notes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in educational conferences, training sessions, case reviews, and research initiatives as assigned
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention standards, and all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts
  • Maintain professional conduct and represent the organization positively at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership or supervising physicians
