Requirements

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, do frequent stooping, bending, and climbing.
  • Ability to work a typical shift schedule starting at 5 am and working 4 x 12-hour shifts/week.
  • At times night shift assignments and weekends will be required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or currently enrolled college student with anticipated graduation by end of current semester, in Feed Manufacturing, Nutritional Sciences, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Able to work as a team player.
  • Computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, demonstrate capability/knowledge, and become certified in all feed manufacturing department areas, including fulfilling all requirements and responsibilities of a Feed Mill Operator.
  • Gain a solid understanding of and ability to implement company systems such as receiving, batching, and load out.
  • Perform and master all hourly jobs under supervision.
  • Become certified in each job after showing competence and skill/understanding.
  • Develop and establish rapport/relationships with all personnel and management.
  • Develop employee management skills.
  • Gain experience in leadership process and challenges.
  • Develop and prepare required reports on experiences encountered and address/share opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain an active license to operate a forklift, be a certified weigh master, and grade grain.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as defined by management according to standards.
  • Responsible for following all environmental laws and procedures.
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
  • Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
