About The Position

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Feed Mill Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment within the feed mill. The technician will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, using blueprints and diagrams to ensure equipment operates within required specifications. Responsibilities include periodic testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, all while adhering to company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and relevant regulations. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in industrial machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawing and schematics required.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Ability to operate/use basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, conveyor, pump, steam and electrical systems using blueprints and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications.
  • Identify root cause of more complex/difficult mechanical and electrical issues and repairs using welding, fabrication, basic pipefitting and electrical/process control knowledge; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
  • Search for and present ideas for permanent fix for reoccurring mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions; notify appropriate personnel and request assistance if unable to correct on own.
  • Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed.
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
  • Train entry level employees as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
