About The Position

The Feed Mill Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and documenting orders, scheduling loads of feed, and dispatching them according to DOT rules and regulations. This role involves maintaining good working relationships with Service Techs and Growers, organizing tasks, and adapting to changing priorities. The position requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. The dispatcher must also be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required by demand scheduling. Additionally, the role involves working in elevated areas, adhering to biosecurity guidelines (including avoiding avian species), maintaining good housekeeping, communicating effectively with all levels of operations, customers, and vendors, and following all Tyson Health and Safety protocols. Physical requirements include lifting up to 60 lbs. (or up to 100 lbs with assistance) and sustaining physical activity like standing, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders/stairs throughout the day. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.

Requirements

  • Rehires are subject to a 91 day wait period, determined from their last date of employment, to apply for FRESH PLANT.
  • Candidates that have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson Affiliates 3 or more times will not be eligible for rehire.
  • Must perform other duties as tasked by administration.
  • Must be safe and observe all of Tyson's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and write in order to receive and document orders
  • Ability to schedule loads of feed by creating and organizing feed tickets and maintaining them for record keeping.
  • Ability to dispatch loads of feed and distribute them evenly among driver/team members within DOT rules and regulations.
  • Ability to answer calls from Service Techs and Growers while maintaining a good working relationship with them.
  • Ability to organize/flex task and change priorities throughout the day
  • Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
