About The Position

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility. The role involves safely and efficiently performing troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility. Typical tasks include troubleshooting and repairing components, testing, and working with production team members. The scheduled work hours are Monday - Friday from 7am-3:30pm, with weekends as needed. The role also includes on-call duties as required, and all identified problems must be repaired before the end of the shift.

Requirements

Reading, General Math and Writing Skills.
Organized and able to multi-task.
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements
Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience
Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
General knowledge of welding/fabrication
General knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical
Ability to work overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shifts
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Willing and able to stand for several hours.
Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with use of PPE
Ability to work in elevated areas
Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations

Nice To Haves

General knowledge of boilers/steam systems
General knowledge with programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD)
Technical school preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components
Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts
Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments
Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery
Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified
Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems
Perform preventive maintenance
Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources
Operate fork lifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
Other duties as assigned
