About The Position

This role involves operating computerized batching and pelleting systems to produce finished feed according to production schedules. The operator will be responsible for managing ingredients, operating various feed production systems, ensuring quality control, and managing loading operations. The position requires effective communication, data accuracy, and the ability to adapt to changing demands in a dynamic work environment. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all health, safety, and biosecurity protocols is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading ingredients and perform minor maintenance duties.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Sustain physical activity throughout the day.
  • Able to climb 157 feet when the elevator is out.
  • Work in various environments, including hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold conditions with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Standing or walking up to 100% of the time.
  • Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines, including avoiding any avian species.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, including service areas. Must keep the mill floor and micro bin tops clean.
  • Follow and operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • May work with corrective lenses if vision problems.
  • May be provided PPE for additional hearing protection as needed.
  • Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 365-day waiting period before you can reapply.
  • Number of Times Worked at Tyson: You can apply if you’ve worked at Tyson no more than three times.
  • Failed Drug Screen - If you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of management, including customers and vendors, both verbally and in written paperwork.
  • Accurately record data to ensure precision in all operations.
  • Keep Micro bins full by carrying bags and unloading them into the micro system. Unload trucks as necessary.
  • Operate batching, pelleting, and grinding systems. Must unchoke mills when they have a plugged situation.
  • Operate computerized pelleting and batching systems to batch, pellet, and route finished feed based on run schedules.
  • Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients. Must keep the mill floor and micro bin tops clean.
  • Operate loading equipment to ensure the correct feed type is loaded and sent to the correct farm.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks throughout the day to adapt to changing demands.
  • Take feed bin inventory as needed. When the elevator is down, must be able to climb 157 feet to take inventory daily.
