About The Position

This position is for team members currently working at this facility or complex. The Ingredient Receiver Rail Operator is responsible for operating a locomotive/track mobile to move rail cars, coordinating switching activities, handling switches and hand brakes, monitoring track conditions, operating scales and documenting incoming ingredients, operating equipment to unload feed ingredients, and performing quality analysis on incoming ingredients. The role also involves using hand tools for unloading and minor maintenance, working in various environmental conditions, and adhering to company biosecurity and safety protocols. This role requires the ability to lift up to 60 lbs (or up to 100 lbs with assistance) and sustain physical activity throughout the day, including standing, sitting, walking, and climbing.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 months Operator experience within the last 10 years listed on the application.
  • Experience can be listed from a combination of employers if it is at least 3 months.
  • Minimum Rehire Waiting Period - 365 days
  • 3 Time Rule
  • Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
  • Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
  • Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guildelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
  • Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a locomotive/track mobile to move rail cars by following established procedures and/or specifications.
  • Coordinate activities such as switching cars from one track to another, coupling railcars together, and/or clearances.
  • Handle switches and hand brakes in accordance with company programs.
  • Walk the length of the track to monitor track conditions and report any irregularities to management.
  • Accurately record data.
  • Operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system.
  • Operate equipment to unload feed ingredients and route to appropriate storage silo.
  • Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.
  • Lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including service areas.
  • Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.
  • Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
