About The Position

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly organized and relationship-focused Program Manager to oversee administration and success of grants to state and local chambers, as well as special programs and projects that support the Chamber’s advocacy efforts. The role also supports the strategic expansion of state and local chamber initiatives through strong stakeholder partnerships. The Program Manager manages grant administration and performance, develops funding opportunities and proposals, and builds relationships with grantees, funders, and internal teams. The position provides technical assistance to grantees and ensures grant-funded activities align with broader advocacy and policy goals.

Requirements

Proven experience in grant administration, program management, or nonprofit development.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of grants to state and local chambers, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, reporting deadlines, and alignment with Chamber priorities.
Monitor grant performance metrics and deliverables, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain grant tracking systems and documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
Conduct grant reviews and assessments to evaluate impact and identify areas for improvement.
Identify and conceptualize grant opportunities to support state and local chamber initiatives in partnership with the Member Relations and Strategic Partnerships divisions.
Research potential funding sources, including foundations, corporate sponsors, and government programs.
Coordinate with the vice president of Federation Relations and Coalition Partnerships on drafting and submitting proposals for additional funding to expand advocacy efforts.
Develop grant narratives and supporting materials aligned with funder priorities and Chamber goals.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with state and local chambers receiving grant funding.
Provide ongoing technical assistance and support to grantees to help them meet grant objectives.
Serve as an adviser and problem solver for grantees, addressing challenges and facilitating solutions.
Facilitate communication between grantees, the Federation team, and internal departments.
Coordinate with the Centers of Excellence to align grant-funded activities with broader advocacy and policy goals.
Cultivate partnerships with funders and external stakeholders to strengthen grant opportunities.
