About The Position

The Federal Work Study Student will work in the CRAVE Lab within the Department of Respiratory Therapy. The student will help with data collection and analysis and assist with the laboratory’s clinical and animal research activities. Duties also include testing new medical devices in human subjects or animals; coordinating projects related to education, compliance, and research execution; printing medical devices on a 3D printer; cleaning and curing devices; maintaining stock and developing ordering lists; preparing written materials about research activities and creating advertising, brochures, and text for program activities; and communicating with research customers to understand requirements and collaboration efforts. Other related duties may be assigned. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Must be a UTMB student enrolled at least half time.

Responsibilities

• Help collect and analyze data.
• Assist with clinical and animal research activities in the CRAVE Lab.
• Test new medical devices in subjects or animals.

• Print medical devices using a 3D printer, and clean and cure devices.
• Stock supplies and develop ordering lists.

• Work with research customers to convey requirements and better understand collaboration efforts.
• Perform other related duties as required.
