About The Position

The Federal Work Study student will work in the CRAVE Lab within the Department of Respiratory Therapy. The role supports data collection and analysis, clinical and animal research activities, and testing new medical devices with human subjects or animals. The student also assists with project coordination, research communications, 3D printing and finishing medical devices, and laboratory inventory activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Must be a UTMB student enrolled at least half time.

Responsibilities

• Help with data collection and analysis.
• Assist with clinical and animal research activities in the laboratory.
• Test new medical devices in subjects or animals.
• Assist with project coordination related to education, compliance, and execution of research activities.
• Print medical devices using a 3D printer, then clean and cure the devices.
• Stock supplies and develop an ordering list.
• Write up research activities, advertise program activities, and create brochures and text.
• Work with research customers to convey requirements and better understand collaboration efforts.
• Perform other related duties as required.
