About The Position

Work-Study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities that will be explained during the interview process. We are excited to offer an on-campus job position for college students! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experiences while balancing your academic commitments. We're seeking motivated students who are eager to join the Ivy Tech team!

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
  • Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
  • Student must demonstrate financial need.
  • Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
  • Official transcripts required upon hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Work study will be used in both the Café and the general labs of the Hospitality program.
  • Must be able to lift a min of 50lbs and stand on their feet for up to 6hrs at a time when needed.
  • Work Study will be required to work directly with food production in the Café and maintaining the inventory.
  • Will also work closely with our guests from the community and our Ivy tech staff and students.
  • Perform opening and closing duties in the Café from the food prep to setting up the register and money handling.
  • Programming and operating our Café POS system will be a part of the learning and daily operating duties as well as working with the lab section of the Hospitality program to learn ordering and vendor selection.
  • Work studies will help receive incoming orders and prepare them for the weekly classes.
