About The Position

Work-Study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities that will be explained during the interview process. We are excited to offer an on-campus job position for college students! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experiences while balancing your academic commitments. We're seeking motivated students who are eager to join the Ivy Tech team! Work study will be used in both the Café and the general labs of the Hospitality program. Work Study will be required to work directly with food production in the Café and maintaining the inventory. Will also work closely with our guests from the community and our Ivy tech staff and students. Perform opening and closing duties in the Café from the food prep to setting up the register and money handling. Programming and operating our Café POS system will be a part of the learning and daily operating duties as well as working with the lab section of the Hospitality program to learn ordering and vendor selection. Work studies will help receive incoming orders and prepare them for the weekly classes.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
  • Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
  • Student must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand on their feet for up to 6 hours at a time when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with food production in the Café and maintaining the inventory.
