About The Position

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Federal Staff Reporting Analysts with strong expertise in military writing, federal documentation standards, report generation and evaluation, Department of Defense procedures, compliance practices, and grading-rubric development to contribute to an advanced AI training and federal-reporting evaluation project. Selected professionals will create and review authentic federal and military reporting artifacts, develop high-quality reference responses, evaluate submissions against structured criteria, and help define the standards used to assess AI-generated staff writing. The opportunity is intended for U.S.-based professionals with direct federal or military reporting experience. No prior experience in AI is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in federal reporting, military staff writing, or a closely related function
  • Prior professional experience within the U.S. Department of Defense or another relevant federal or military environment
  • Demonstrated experience producing templated reports such as WARs, MARs, SITREPs, after-action reports, and executive summaries
  • Background with one or more branches of the U.S. military is highly valuable
  • Strong understanding of federal documentation and reporting conventions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to clarity, tone, accuracy, and compliance
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for official reports, presentations, or memoranda
  • Ability to explain reporting methodology and provide structured feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive or confidential materials appropriately within professional environments
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely and asynchronously
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing grading rubrics or evaluation criteria is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and refine authentic federal reporting artifacts
  • Develop Weekly Action Reports (WARs), Situation Reports (SITREPs), after-action summaries, and executive briefings
  • Produce clear written outputs based on supplied prompts and documentation
  • Apply appropriate structure, tone, terminology, and reporting conventions
  • Ensure deliverables reflect realistic federal and military staff-writing practices
  • Develop concise and accurate summaries for senior or executive audiences
  • Adapt writing style to different federal reporting contexts
  • Maintain clarity, precision, and appropriate levels of detail
  • Translate complex activities and status information into structured reports
  • Apply federal and military documentation standards consistently
  • Evaluate sample project submissions against detailed grading guidelines
  • Assess clarity, factual accuracy, compliance, and reporting-convention adherence
  • Identify inconsistencies, omissions, and formatting or style issues
  • Provide structured feedback supporting revision and improvement
  • Maintain consistency across repeated evaluation assignments
  • Contribute authentic input artifacts for status, activity, and compliance-reporting scenarios
  • Develop high-quality golden reference responses
  • Create examples reflecting reporting practices used across federal agencies and military organisations
  • Support a range of official report, memorandum, and briefing formats
  • Ensure reference materials demonstrate professional staff-writing standards
  • Develop grading criteria for federal report-generation tasks
  • Help define standards for accuracy, clarity, compliance, and style
  • Translate specialised reporting expertise into measurable evaluation criteria
