About The Position

K.L. Scott & Associates (KLSA) is seeking several Federal Cost & Financial Analysts to support Federal financial management engagements. These engagements focus on indirect cost rate analysis, cost allocation, and compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance). This role is crucial for mission-critical work that demands analytical rigor, the creation of audit-ready documentation, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, or related)
1+ year experience (Junior)
Basic accounting and financial analysis knowledge (Junior)
Strong attention to detail and organization (Junior)
3+ years experience (Mid-Level)
Experience in auditing, financial analysis, or cost accounting (Mid-Level)
Working knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Mid-Level)
5+ years experience (Senior)
Strong knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200, GAAP, and Federal cost principles (Senior)
Experience with reconciliation workpapers and stakeholder coordination (Senior)
Bachelor’s degree (CPA or advanced degree preferred) (Lead/Project Manager)
8+ years Federal cost accounting experience (Lead/Project Manager)
Expertise in 2 CFR Part 200, GAAP, and Federal financial management (Lead/Project Manager)
Strong leadership and executive communication skills (Lead/Project Manager)
Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
Experience supporting financial transparency and audit readiness
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Good attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

CPA or advanced degree preferred (Lead/Project Manager)

Responsibilities

Perform financial analysis aligned with Federal cost principles (2 CFR Part 200)
Support review and validation of indirect cost rates, fringe rates, and cost allocation plans
Analyze financial statements, cost pools, and allocation bases to assess allowability, allocability, and reasonableness
Prepare audit-ready documentation, reconciliation workpapers, and supporting analyses
Utilize Microsoft Excel and financial tools for data analysis and modeling
Maintain documentation sufficient for Federal review, audit, and compliance
Collaborate with internal teams and Government stakeholders
Operate in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Obtain and maintain required HHS security clearance/credentials
