About The Position

Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that support the growth of departmental programs. This role involves creating and executing messaging and timelines for marketing and event efforts, ensuring adherence to departmental and University branding guidelines. The position also includes general office duties, coordinating and running events, and utilizing web technologies for departmental website and social media management. The student will identify social media channels to increase program awareness, tailor campaigns to target audiences, and track performance to improve goals.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduates' students.
  • Must have a current and complete file with the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Must demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA application annually.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, or permanent residence, or has an alien registration number, or an eligible non-citizen.
  • Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
  • Knowledge of adobe Photoshop and video editing software.
  • Knowledge of University policies as well as Recreational Sports guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.
  • Must possess effective public speaking skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and design software.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
  • Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
  • Promptly complete all required trainings.
  • Submit time sheet biweekly.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure departmental and University branding guidelines are utilized.
  • Perform general office duties including answering telephones, typing, filing, photocopying, and assisting customers.
  • Assist with coordinating, setting up, and running Healthy U events.
  • Assist with implementation of web technologies to streamline processes for departmental website and social media sites.
  • Identify appropriate social media channels to expand Healthy U program awareness.
  • Tailor social media campaigns to the appropriate target audience.
  • Track performance of various social media initiatives and develop/implement changes to improve goals and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain certifications/licenses as terms of employment.

Benefits

  • Pay of Rate : $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
