About The Position
Responsible for feeding and caring for university- and client-owned animals and for general maintenance of buildings and equipment. The role involves work in a livestock farm setting, with most duties performed outdoors under conditions typical of farm operations. The position requires familiarity with handling stallions and experience in equine husbandry, welding, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, conferred by the agreed-upon start date.
- Three years of work experience, or two years of post-secondary education and one year of related work experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with farming practices, equipment operations, equipment repair, and basic research practices in agriculture, horticulture, or natural resources management.
- Experience in equine husbandry, welding, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently; the working conditions section also states the ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Familiarity with handling stallions.
