About The Position
The Farm Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our farm operations. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across a variety of farm systems and equipment. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and farm environments
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of maintenance or related experience preferred
- Electrical and welding experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues across farm systems, including electronic sow feeders, ventilation, plumbing, and heating systems
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Maintain and repair farm equipment such as tractors, mowers, rear blades, and related tools
- Adhere to all safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and biosecurity protocols
- Complete seasonal and outdoor tasks, including snow plowing, mowing, weed trimming, and general grounds maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; assist with pressure washing and facility cleaning as needed
- Track, organize, and maintain parts, tools, and inventory to ensure maintenance readiness
- Communicate maintenance needs, completed work, and potential issues clearly with farm leadership
