About The Position

This diverse position supports farm operations from a maintenance and construction perspective. The role involves maintenance and construction at farm sites, including general maintenance and construction, welding, replacing parts, curtain and barn repairs, and feed system repairs. The position also works on equipment and systems related to ventilation, filtration, heating, cooling, and feeding.

Requirements

• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Ability to walk and stand continuously for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Ability to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Ability to comply with bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and construction at farm sites.
• Perform general and wire-feed welding.
• Operate and repair fan and heater controls.
• Focus on critical control points and functions.
• Repair cool cell controls and systems.
• Repair curtain machine controls and systems.
• Install and repair filter boxes and filters.
• Check farms for air leaks during filtration.
• Repair feed systems, including feed bins, feed lines, and feeders.
• Replace electrical motors on fans, feed lines, and other equipment.
• Comply with bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies.
