About The Position

Pillen Family Farms is a family-owned business located in Nebraska that markets approximately 2 million pigs annually. The Farm Maintenance / Construction position supports farm operations by performing maintenance and construction work at farm sites. Work includes general maintenance and construction, welding, part replacement, curtain and barn repairs, and feed system repairs.

Requirements

• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Ability to walk and stand continuously for at least 8 hours per day.
• Ability to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Must comply with biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general welding, including wire-feed welding.
• Operate and repair fan and heater controls.
• Focus on critical control points and functions.
• Repair cool cell controls and systems.
• Repair curtain machine controls and systems.
• Install and repair filter boxes and filters.
• Check farms for air leaks during filtration.
• Repair feed systems, including feed bins, feed lines, and feeders.
• Replace electrical motors on fans, feed lines, and other equipment.
• Comply with biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare policies.
