About The Position

The Farm Department Account Manager is responsible for servicing and managing farm insurance accounts, including the associated personal and commercial insurance policies tied to those accounts. This role focuses on delivering exceptional client service through account management, coverage consultation, policy retention, remarketing, and cross-selling opportunities. The Account Manager works collaboratively across all areas of the Farm Department and supports both service and new business functions as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines account management experience required; farm insurance experience strongly preferred.
  • Active Pennsylvania Property & Casualty License required.
  • Strong understanding of insurance coverage forms, carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and agency placement standards.
  • Experience quoting and servicing policies through carrier systems and agency management platforms.
  • Experience with agency management systems; Applied Epic experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload, manage time independently, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive, professional attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service farm insurance accounts, including related personal and commercial lines policies, in accordance with agency procedures and service standards.
  • Assist clients through inbound and outbound communication regarding policy reviews, coverage questions, cancellations, renewals, and remarketing opportunities.
  • Educate and counsel clients on existing coverage, available policy enhancements, and insurance solutions that best meet their needs.
  • Gather and review underwriting information necessary to prepare accurate insurance quotes and applications.
  • Process account transactions including new business, rewrites, endorsements, binders, renewals, and policy changes.
  • Consistently prioritize placement of business with agency core carriers in alignment with agency guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all client interactions, policy activity, emails, and supporting documents within the agency management system.
  • Assist clients with billing inquiries, payment processing, and claims-related support as needed.
  • Prepare questionnaires, reports, and other required documentation in accordance with agency standards and carrier requirements.
  • Proactively support account retention efforts by following up on cancellations, non-renewals, and Broker of Record letters.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and generate new business through referrals, networking, and relationship-building activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to support department goals, cross-selling initiatives, and workflow demands.
  • Rotate between Farm Department service responsibilities and new business support functions as needed.
  • Represent the agency professionally and maintain a high level of customer service, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
