About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Fan Operator at Ingalls Shipbuilding. The role involves placing blowers in position, running tubing for ventilation, connecting blowers, adjusting blowers for proper draft, inspecting tubing for holes, and making necessary repairs. The position is full-time with multiple shift options. Ingalls Shipbuilding is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to Alabama's economy, with a history of designing, building, and maintaining ships for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. They are a leading supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants and are involved in building multiple ship classes.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry objects (ventilation tubing) and material weighing up to 30 lbs
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
• Must be able to work off scaffolds
• Will be required to work in various climatic conditions
• Will be required to work in confined spaces common in shipbuilding

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Shipyard or heavy construction experience
