About The Position

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services for over 125 years, offering more than 160 programs and services. Their Family Child Care Homes provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services for young children and their families, focusing on nurturing learning environments that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Providers use developmentally appropriate Montessori activities to guide children's learning experiences.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
2 years of experience in Human Services required.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed.

Nice To Haves

College Degree or Family Development Credential preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; English/Creole speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain necessary records.
Make referrals to appropriate agencies as needed.
Work with families in a supportive fashion.
Serve as a liaison between the center and parents.
Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and registration efforts to determine eligibility.
Conduct In-Takes and Family Partnership Agreements.
Show parents around the center.
Elicit social and developmental information on the child and share with teachers and staff, maintaining confidentiality.
Input information into the data master.
Complete documentation and prepare required reports for compliance.
Prepare In-Kind Reports.
Receive and verify financial and other information needed to determine eligibility.
Contact families to receive information, referrals, and other services such as employment, mental health, counseling, housing, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
