About The Position

Four Oaks is seeking a compassionate and dependable Family Support Worker to help children and families stay connected, strengthen relationships, and work toward family reunification. The role provides hands-on support, encouragement, and guidance to help families address barriers and build lasting connections. The position is based at the Iowa City Campus and requires frequent travel, up to 50%, with varied shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Education or experience related to social services is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise interactions between parents, children, and siblings, encouraging healthy relationships and positive family connections.
• Coordinate appointments, schedule meetings, and provide transportation assistance when needed.
• Identify community programs, services, and support systems that can help families overcome challenges and build stability.
• Advocate for children and families involved in Family Centered Services (FCS), helping ensure their needs and concerns are recognized.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers and provide consistent support.
• Collaborate with Family Support Specialists, Intervention Specialists, and other professionals to coordinate family-centered services.
• Observe family and sibling interactions, maintain accurate documentation, and identify strengths and areas where additional support may be needed.
• Apply training in family interactions and observation to help create safe, supportive, and meaningful experiences for children and families.
