Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. As a Family Support Partner in the Wrap Around -Charlotte department, you will provide education and assistance in navigating the child-serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care, etc.), support the legal guardian with gaining skill sets to complete and locate referrals. A typical day as a Family Support Partner will include providing 9-12 support mentorship to legal guardians in the school, home, and community setting for 90 minutes max weekly in person or virtual building relationships with guardians in the community. As a Family Support Partner, your schedule will be non-traditional, but typically around 9 am-5 pm, excluding weekends and on-call. Mentors serve their youth in person or virtually in the community in Charlotte and surrounding.
