About The Position

As a co-facilitator for a Family Support Group, you will introduce discussion topics and help moderate conversation. You will be responsible for maintaining all CMHA YSS policies and procedures relating to confidentiality, privacy and health and safety. This role requires you to have personal experience with a family member who has experienced mental health concerns and therefore we ask that you inform your supervisor of any issues that arise that may interfere with your volunteer position. This role requires virtual attendance. All sessions are virtual, in the evenings, as follows: 1x month: Last Monday from 7:00pm-8:15pm. Requires training and orientation before you begin volunteering. You will need to complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening for this role. Three volunteer spots available.

Requirements

Personal experience with a family member who has experienced mental health concerns.
Virtual attendance required.
Attend sessions virtually on the last Monday of each month from 7:00pm-8:15pm.
Complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Minimum of a one-year commitment.
Commit to 2-3 hours per month minimum.

Responsibilities

Introduce discussion topics and help moderate conversation.
Maintain all CMHA YSS policies and procedures relating to confidentiality, privacy and health and safety.
Inform your supervisor of any issues that arise that may interfere with your volunteer position.
Complete Group Facilitation training.
Complete general orientation and on-the-job training.
Complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check.
Be available for day and/or evenings and occasional on-call.
Provide a minimum of a one-year commitment.
Commit to 2-3 hours per month minimum.
Notify the program coordinator in advance if you are not able to be present for a group.
Submit volunteer hours on a bi-weekly basis.
Adhere to CMHA’s written volunteer policies and procedures.
