About The Position

Under the assigned supervisor, the Family Support Facilitator Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the delivery of services and the supervision of staff in the assigned program in accordance with the program guidelines. This includes providing resources to staff and utilizing community partnerships with the goal of providing support services to moderate and high-risk families to reduce the likelihood of a future incidence of maltreatment and involvement with the child welfare system. The Family Support Facilitator Supervisor implements the use of Motivational Interviewing and Family Team Conferencing while utilizing a trauma-informed care approach to assist families. These methods will be the primary manner in which work with the family is performed by employees. Principles of strength-based work, family engagement and risk management will be performed in the daily work. Documentation will be maintained routinely as part of the work with each employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years child welfare experience required.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the concepts and principles of Motivational Interviewing and Family Team Conferencing with staff to assist families in improving the caregiver protective factors
  • Works with employees directly to utilize creative and flexible problem solving to meet the family’s needs
  • Reviews all intake information from Child Net referrals
  • Timely assigns all Child Net referrals to the Family Support Facilitators
  • Observes and submits accurate documentation on the services provided and the functioning of individuals and families as required by specific job or department, including entering in the FSFN database, as required by contract and for Internal Quality practices
  • Staffs all cases monthly at a minimum with the Family Support Facilitators
  • Builds alliances and partnerships with community providers
  • Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures of One Hope United
  • Complete trainings as required by One Hope United and the lead Community Based Care agency
  • Assists CQI in the development of agency documentation to enhance programming, to ensure quality of service and to meet the requirements of the funding source policies and procedures
  • Completes and submits performance appraisals in a timely manner
  • Conducts regular unit meetings with staff
  • Ensures adequate client contact is maintained in accordance with specific program guidelines and the minimum required contact hours are achieved each month
  • Ensures strict adherence to contractual obligations with the funding source
  • Ensures staff at all levels are closely monitoring child and client safety and are appropriately responsive to any situation posing a risk to, or by, a client
  • Ensures that staff handles unusual incidents in a prompt and effective manner
  • Handles client, staff, caregiver, and collateral complaints and grievances
  • Monitors program expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
  • Oversees case responsibilities and provides guidance in case planning, safety planning, and family assessments
  • Participates in agency management meetings, work groups, public speaking engagements to promote agency programs and services, and trainings with funding source
  • Provides direct services to children and families in the absence of assigned staff
  • Provides staff with training, education, and supervision on therapeutic approaches with clients
  • Reviews all written documents generated by staff and ensures that the required documents are in the case file. Ensures that all documents are well-written, accurate, clear, concise, and free from any spelling or grammar errors.
  • Reviews funding source policies and procedures and trains staff on the implementation of these procedures
  • Staffs all cases and manages case assignments to ensure an equal distribution of cases and to maintain the appropriate staff-to-client ratios as outlined by the funding source
  • Works with staff to ensure safety and well-being of clients
  • Reports directly to the Director of Programs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
