The Ulupono Family Strengthening Program works to increase the internal resources of families to handle challenges they face with their children. Family support specialists on Oahu and Maui work with parents/caregivers of children ages birth to 17 years old to help families thrive by teaching parents how to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for their children. Ulupono is a program where parents/caregivers and Family Support Specialists work together to promote family wellness. Mothers, fathers and other caregivers are encouraged to participate. The Program Supervisor supervises the delivery of voluntary culturally appropriate and strengths-based child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention services for low to moderate risk families referred by the Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Intake units. This position communicates frequently with community partners, home visitors, other supervisors, funders, and families. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Director/Assistant Program Director.
