This full-time position is based in Chilliwack and focuses on providing culturally appropriate and responsive community-based services to Indigenous children, youth, and families within Stó:lō Territory. The role operates within the parameters of the BC Child, Family and Community Services Act and the Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI). Services aim to strengthen community capacity for child protection and support. The Social Worker acts as the first point of contact for child protection reports and collaborates with families, community members, Band Designates, Elders, and other supports in case planning and service delivery. Services encompass Family Development Response, Protective and Voluntary Family Service, and Guardianship. The role requires knowledge of Community Protocols and participation in community events and ceremonies.
