About The Position

The Head Start Family Service & Enrollment Coordinator serves as one of the first connections families make with the program, helping them access early childhood education, supportive services, and community resources. The position plays a key role in recruiting, enrolling, and supporting eligible children and families, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and maintaining accurate documentation. To succeed in this role, the coordinator should possess a combination of educational background, technical skills, interpersonal abilities, and program-specific competencies. This is a key position on the Head Start Program Management Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Development, Family Services, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of experience working with children and families; willingness to obtain Family Service Credential.
  • Must be bondable, insurable, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with administrative support, community outreach, early childhood programs, case management, and data systems for tracking progress is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, eligibility, selection, and enrollment to maintain full Head Start enrollment.
  • Help families identify goals, address barriers, and access resources.
  • Provide family engagement and case management that supports children’s education, health, social development, and family well-being.
  • Coordinate outreach and collaborate with team members and community partners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Head Start enrollment requirements.
