About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), a leading not-for-profit organization, is seeking a full-time Family Supportive Services Case Manager. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive casework services to ensure the safety and well-being of children by assisting families in meeting minimum parenting standards. The position requires adherence to state mandates, COA standards, agency policies, and program plans. LSSI has a long history of making a positive impact on children and families in Illinois.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a related human service field required.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to others and influence people.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in social service work preferred.
  • Experience working with schools, healthcare facilities and government institutions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers, schools and healthcare facilities to promote and ensure child well-being and safety during service delivery.
  • Assess family service needs and provide linkage to community resources to remediate problems and prevent abuse or neglect and verify participation.
  • Provide strengths-based case management to facilitate the resolution of low to minor challenges contributing to risk to children.
  • Advocacy with medical or governmental institutions.
  • Complete and submit all required reports, documents, and billing accurately and timely as required by the agency and funding sources.
  • Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, service planning and intervention.
