About The Position

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child and Family Services Division. The Family Resource Unit recruits, trains, and licenses foster families and recommends adoptive families for approval. This position will participate on state and local committees, attend state and local meetings with staff and other professionals, meet with other supervisors as requested and coordinate regularly scheduled staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of philosophy, principles, and practices of social welfare.
  • Knowledge of professional methods and techniques of counseling and social case work.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules and practices relating to the social services by federal and state laws.
  • Ability to make objective decisions in crisis situations.
  • Skill in crisis management and problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or another related field.
  • 3 years of job-related work experience in Social Work, Leadership Ability, Child Protective Services.
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Background checks relevant to the position.
  • Pass reference checks before an offer will be extended.
