About The Position

A private clinic in Antigonish is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from September 14th, 2026 to September 25th, 2026. Part-time or full-time coverage would be appreciated. The clinic is home to two Family Physicians, supported by experienced clerical staff. The clinic features two exam rooms, providing a comfortable and functional workspace. There are no call or inpatient responsibilities, allowing for a balanced and predictable workload. The practice is equipped with an established Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring efficient patient care and documentation.

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

Responsibilities

• Delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
• Work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access.
• Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members.

Benefits

• Guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day).
• Additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
• Accommodations up to $300 per night.
• Travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500).
• Travel time up to 10 hours per week.
• Licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS).
