About The Position

Dr. Maria Angwin Memorial Wyse Road health clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage. This role involves providing comprehensive primary care to the community, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. The clinic is a collaborative family medicine practice with 4 physicians and Nurse Practitioners, supported by a dedicated family practice nurse and experienced clerical staff. The practice utilizes the Med Access EMR system for efficient documentation and communication.

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

Responsibilities

• Provide Locum coverage for family practices.
• Provide inpatient and nursing home care.
• Provide specialist hospital and office coverage as requested.

Benefits

• Minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day).
• Additional earnings if shadow billings exceed the guarantee.
• Reimbursement for travel expenses (kilometragem, per diems, accommodations up to $300 per night, airfare up to $1,500).
• Reimbursement for travel time up to 10 hours per week.
• CPSNS licensing fees covered.
• Facility On Call fees may be claimed under specific conditions.
