About The Position

A private clinic in Antigonish is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage for specific dates in September 2026. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages, collaborating with other clinic providers for cross-coverage and same-day access, and utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR) for patient documentation. The clinic is supported by experienced clerical staff and features two exam rooms. There are no call or inpatient responsibilities. The practice is equipped with an established EMR system.

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

• Delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
• Work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
• Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Benefits

• Guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
• Additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded
• Accommodations up to $300 per night
• Travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
• Travel time up to 10 hours per week
• Licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)
