Family Physician - Capitol Heights, MD
About The Position
Marathon Health is seeking a Family Physician to provide patient-centered primary care to employees at assigned Marathon Health Centers through an Employer-Sponsored Direct Primary Care model. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice full-spectrum primary care with a smaller patient panel (800-1000 patients), allowing for longer appointment times (30-60 minutes) and a focus on prevention and wellness rather than sick care. The model emphasizes enhanced patient relationships, aligned incentives focused on health outcomes, and a flexible, insurance-free work environment. Providers will utilize electronic medical records and population management tools, and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency in Family Practice or Internal Medicine + Pediatric.
- Board certification or eligibility and intent to certify.
- Active state license.
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
- May be required to have a dispensing license per state regulations.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered primary care to employees at assigned Marathon Health Centers.
- Focus on prevention and wellness, acute and chronic disease management.
- Maximize provider-patient relationships with longer appointment times.
- Proactively work with patients to prevent diseases and injuries through lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with at least two or more Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the organization.
- Utilize electronic medical records and population management tools.
- Consult with patients using technology, including mobile phones and secure email access.
