About The Position

The Family Practice Physician is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team which functions to meet the objectives of the programs in Northeast Community Clinic. The Family Practice Physician will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and by written protocols. Family Practice Physician works in conjunction with the Medical Director in implementing and maintaining quality care programs.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service (Bedside Manners).
  • Ability to work as a team player and work independently.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to travel from facility to facility.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited university (if foreign medical graduate, must pass all required USMLE exams and/or completed an accredited residency program in the US)
  • Active California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Practice.
  • Active DEA License.
  • Must have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.
  • Have approved credentials with Health Plans.
  • Commitment to goals and philosophy of Northeast Community Clinic.
  • Current CPR and/or BLS Certification.
  • Valid State Identification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical, social and developmental histories.
  • Perform physical exams and immunizations on all patients.
  • Initiate laboratory exams and studies as indicated.
  • Provide health education and counseling.
  • Management of all acute and chronic illnesses to and above community standards at all times.
  • Consult with and Refer to appropriate specialist in regards to high risk or complex patients.
  • Management of services in accordance with established Northeast Community Clinics policies/procedures and contracted services under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines.
  • Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care in triage situations.
  • Participation in Northeast Community Clinics Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) program.
  • Provide case management with other health care team members.
  • Provide consultations to other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistant.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff.
  • Other duties as designated by the Medical Director or Executive Director.
