About The Position

Nat’s Pharmacy (Nat's Remedy's Walk-In Clinic) is looking for a full-time Family Physician to join our team in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Requirements

  • Must be a registered member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
  • Must be issued a valid practice permit.
  • Recent (within the last 12 months) experience as a general family physician
  • Completion of University Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, etc.)
  • Health Insurance Provider Identification Number (Practice ID)
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills
  • A passion for patient care and the patient experience
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
  • Provide emergency care
  • Provide acute care management
  • Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
  • Advise patients and their families on health care, including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
  • Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
  • Perform patient advocacy role
  • Coordinate or manage primary patient care
  • Provide continuous care to patients
  • Report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases to governmental authorities.
